NAIJA @62: CARRY GO CELEBRATES WITH NIGERIANS
Peaceful and United Co-existence should be our Watchword in the face of divisive challenges
President of Change Agent Foundation International (CAFI/T'23), Hon. Oladipupo Babatunde Okeyomi Carry Go commended the nation's growth since her independence in the last 62 years and urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in the pursuit of peace and unity in order to achieve the lofty goals set for successive generations by the founding fathers.
Congratulating Nigerians for sticking to the path of peaceful and united co-existence in the face of divisive challenges, Carry Go assured of a greater nation in which every Nigerian will be a proud citizen.
"But I know even much more, that tough times never last but tough people do. And Nigerians are tough people. Evidence of that abounds in our strength in adversity and most especially amongst our youth who continue to make us proud.
“So if I have to summarise my message to Nigerians on this our 62nd Independence Day, I would do it in one sentence: Things will get better. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and all her people,” he said.
Hon. Okeyomi urged Nigerians to ensure more vibrant, constructive and patriotic citizen participation in the governance of their country.
In his statement, he admonished Nigerians to re-dedicate themselves to the idea of defining their personal interests in line with how it helps the realisation of national objectives.
He explained that the national objective of every Nigerian should be to build a United, Peaceful, Economically strong, internationally respected country, with robust military, well motivated work-force, ambitious youth and fulfilled citizens.
“Citizens should stop abandoning politics and political choices to politicians and manipulative elements who invoke only religious, ethnic and geo-political sentiments to impose leadership who are only supported for the purpose of serving the interests of those who put them in office. Nigerians should vow that the leader who will lead the country when it is celebrating its 62nd anniversary must be one who would have set this country on the path of genuine socio-economic development and political greatness.
