Hon. Olotu Continue to Preach Peace, Say No To Protest
In continuation of the appeal from the proactive and workaholic lawmaker representing Ifako Ijaiye Constituency 02, Hon Emmanuel Olotu, towards the National Protest, which was facilitated by unknown organizers, which it's stated to commence today, Thursday, 1st of August 2024.
Hon Olotu has continue to appeal to the youths and the constituents of Ifako Ijaiye Constituency 02 to shun the planned nationwide protest against hardship.
In his quest to shun the protest, Hon Olotu held a meeting with the Good Boys on Friday, 26th, July 2024 in OJOKORO LCDA, which they all agreed not to join any protest organized by unknown person(s).
Hon. Olotu, who is also the Chairman, Committee On Agriculture in the Lagos State House of Assembly, warned that the protest could be hijacked by miscreants to cause violence and needless loss of lives. Truly, it's the right of citizens to demonstrate against certain government’s actions, but urged the organisers to explore other means to demand answers to the problems in the country in the interest of PEACE.
Hon. Olotu urged Nigerians and most especially the good people of Ifako Ijaiye Constituency 02 to be patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu to turn things around, saying the destructions that characterised the 2020 EndSars protests were enough reason to shelve the planned action.
“Majority of the properties owned by Federal government, Lagos State and individuals were destroyed and looted during the EndSARS protest.
“Many people participated in the #EndSARS protests just to loot and destroy.
“During the protests, more than 200 BRT buses were burnt to ashes in Lagos, Police Station were burnt, At the end of the day, it was the common man that suffered the consequences. That should not be allowed to happen again,” he said.
We can see our proactive President appealing day and night to the protesters, which he (Mr. President) also confirmed that, the Protesters has won.
Olotu said Mr. President was passionate about the progress of the country and that his various reforms were designed to better the lot of the people.
You can all agree with me, that Mr. President just put an assent to the N70,000 Minimum wage and also ordered NNPC to sell Crude Oil for Dangote Refinery in Naira, in other to boost our currency.
He noted that the country was facing a difficult period, adding that one year was too short for any government to confront the challenges at hand.
Hon Olotu, who is also the Apex Leader of The Mandate Movement "TMM" in Ojokoro LCDA urged Ojokorians to stay at home and advised parents and guardians to tell their children and wards to stay at home during the protest.
Olotu said that the food crisis in the country was caused by incessant attacks on farms by bandits in the north as well as flooding and other devastating effects of climate change._
He, however, urged government at all levels to embark on massive mechanised farming to reduce hunger in the country.
The lawmaker said Mr. President has stopped import duties on food items to make them affordable to the people, which I believe it will materialised in a jiffy.
