2022 CARRY GO DAY: SUSTAINING THE VISION AND MISSION OF GOOD GOVERNANCE

The 9th Edition of Carry Go Day, which was tagged "SUSTAINING THE VISION AND MISSION OF GOOD GOVERNANCE", dated on Thursday, 22nd December, 2022 was joyfully graced by some notable dignitaries such as, the representative of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Bola Ilori, The Onimeiran of Meiran, Oba (Dr). Samuel Awoyemi Oroja II, APC Stalwart, Ojokoro LCDA, Dr. Waleeh Adeleke Ipaye, Founder, New Seraph and also CAFI Southwest Patroness, Rev. Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi Sholoye, Hon. Peter Ajayi, Chief Mrs. Adunni Jackie Kassim, Rector of ADECOM Polytechnic, Dr. Adewale Adeshina, The DPO of Alayinla Polics Station, SP Awoniyi Adekunle, the DPO of Alakuko Police Station, CSP Margaret Okonkwo, Ojokoro LCDA Ward Chairmen, CEO of Next Level Event Centre, Dr. Olufemi S. Esenyi, Sheikh Jamiu Adegunwa (Labaika de Christ), Hon. Foluke Kolade-Oseni, Princess Sandra Williams, Babaloja Ojokoro, Mr. Akinloye.

In Nigeria today, their is a serious time bomb waiting to explode and that is the issue of vast majority of Nigerians who are unemployed.

The poverty level has risen to about 40% or more who are living in extreme poverty as at last year, 2020, and by this time statistics for this current out going year is released, the percentage will go up.

It is a well known fact that government cannot alone eradicate or bring unemployment or poverty to the barest minimum. The efforts of individuals are therefore required to support the various tiers of government in putting smiles in the faces of people.

Having seen and done a serious research about what people are going through due to the harsh economic realities that the people are faced with. The President of Change Agent Foundation International (CAFI), Hon. Dr. Oladipupo Gabriel Babatunde Okeyomi Carry Go, thought it's wise to empower citizens through his Foundation, which has over the years done magnificently by empowering people with lots of valuable materials such as, Grinding Machines, Welding Machines, Scales while 100 people were given landed properties certificate at the 9th Edition of Carry Go Day epoch event that took place at Next Level Event Centre, 25 Meiran Road, Lagos Abeokuta Expressway, Lagos, which was attended by thousands of CAFI members throughout Nigeria.

The event was glamorous, when the Vice President, Pastor (Mrs) Folukemi Okeyomi CAFI crowned MISS CAFI 2022/2023 in person of Miss Oluremi Faith, First and Second Runner Up, Miss Bashir Fathia and Miss Praise respectively were also crowned with their respective prizes.

It is instructive to note that the empowerment did not just improve the life of the beneficiaries but also had a ripple effect on the various families as a whole.

This year theme is to let the beneficiaries be aware that they could be self employed and also be a landlord/landlady with the surprises of landed properties and valuable items, In other words, less dependent on government that has too many on it's hands. And while putting into good use what they have got, it will be resourceful and productive for them, if the items were properly handled and efficiently managed.

Some good spirited Nigerians like Dr. Okeyomi has gone a notch higher to raise the bar in empowerment programs. Such that it has become an annual event that all CAFIANS have been waiting for. 

This year's empowerment seeks to enhance the status of people by dashing out landed properties and materials that will impact positively in their lives.

We encourage beneficiaries to put into good use whatever they have got. Together we can change lives, and make things work. 

"In sustaining the Vision and Mission of Good Governance, Leadership is critical for the achievement of results. It is often said that no country can develop beyond the level of its leadership. The predicament of Nigeria in terms of underdevelopment and corruption can be adduced to the problem of leadership and governance. Nigeria needs committed leaders who will govern with integrity and doggedly influence its human and natural resources toward the actualization of sustainable national development. The place of leadership and good governance in the actualization of overall national development in Nigeria. The leaders who govern should be made accountable by publicly declaring what they have been able to achieve in terms of performance as well as how much was expended in every sector on a yearly basis; Auditors with integrity should be made to verify their claims in order to ascertain the genuineness of the claims; Corrupt leaders should be brought to book and made to face necessary and lawful penalties without fear or favour; and elections made free and fair and not rigged. When citizens are allowed to choose their leaders, leaders would in turn have a sense of responsibility that they owe the people good governance".

In addition, Hon. Okeyomi urges all CAFIANs to vote for presidential candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinibu, re-elect Governor of Lagos and Ogun State, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu and Prince Dapo Abiodun respectively and also APC candidates for the sustaining good governance in Nigeria.
