LSO Salutes Teachers Resilience And Steadfastness In Shaping The Nation
Lateef Olawale, a teacher/facilitator in ONILEKERE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL has saluted Nigerian teachers’ particularly Lagos Teachers resilience, steadfastness and courage amidst identified challenges as the World Teachers’ Day is marked.
I made the commendation in a statement issued today, Sunday 5th October, 2025 to rejoice with my colleagues in the teaching profession in Lagos state on the occasion of this year’s World Teachers’ Day.
The 2025 theme for World Teachers' Day is "Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession". This theme emphasizes the collective nature of teaching and highlights the importance of teachers working together to achieve transformative educational outcomes, empowering teachers and strengthening their professional identity through collaborative efforts.
William Arthur Ward once said:“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”
Our passion, sacrifice, and devotion to our profession are not only invaluable but also critical to the success of our education system and the development of our nation."
On this note, I implore the government to promote cooperation at all levels to build more inclusive, equitable, and resilient education systems.
In the same vein, I urge the government to provide necessary support, including proper funding and welfare, to enable teachers to thrive.
“On this special day, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to every teacher in Lagos State, which I'm also one of them. We teachers are the true architects of our future, moulding the hearts and minds of young learners, nurturing their potential, and inspiring them to reach greater heights.
”Our work goes beyond imparting knowledge; We shape character, encourage critical thinking, and foster a lifelong love for learning".
Happy World Teachers' Day
