Lagos LG Polls: Apex leaders reconfirmed Sanusi as consensus APC chairmanship candidate in Ojokoro

Ahead of the July 12 Local Government elections in Lagos State, the Apex leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have dismissed a purported chairmanship list submitted to the state party chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, stating that it did not originate from a valid quorum of the council’s Apex Council. The leaders reaffirmed a highly respected journalist and prolific writer, Mr Mobolaji Sanusi as the consensus APC chairmanship candidate for Ojokoro, as adopted by the majority of council leaders during several earlier meetings.   Ahead of the Lagos State Local Government election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has indicated that its candidates list for the chairmanship and councillorship polls would emerge through consensus between the party leaders, aspirants and members across the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in the state. The party said that the need to adopt consensus lists for both the councillor and chairmen seats will ensure a rancour free primary exercise as well as sustain the existing unity among members of the Lagos APC. It added that uniting on lists of the candidates will allow the party win all elective seats during the poll in the state, saying we have 57 councils but the number of aspirants is over 400 and all of them can’t seat in the office.

  In a bid to corroborate their stance with irrefutable facts on the adoption of Mr Mobolaji Sanusi as consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ojokoro LCDA in the forthcoming local council elections in Lagos State, the party’s Ojokoro apex council has released a copy of the resolution containing names of the authentic leaders that signed for Sanusi. The names were listed in an attachment to a letter sent to the state chairman of the party, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi on Saturday. The body’s letter was to lend credence to a similar letter written on Friday where it declared Sanusi, a former Managing Director of Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency (LASAA) as the party’s consensus candidate in the council area.
